The Hecht 743 Rotavator/Tiller is powered by petrol and is equipped with a Hecht 43cc 2-Stroke engine. This garden gadget replaces the hard manual work of tilling soil and is an essential item for hobby gardeners, landscapers, vegetable cultivators and anyone who finds tilling hard work.
The main job for this rotavator is to till soil without hours of kneeling down or heavy fork work. It is ideal for those who grow a lot of herbs or vegetables, as well as general green fingers who like to resoil flower beds each year for optimum growth. Like all rotavators or tillers, it can be used to cultivate small patches of lawn as well as keeping borders and beds fresh.
Tillers can also be used on patches of worn or damaged lawn to till the soil and prepare for grass seeds. Lawns, beds and borders that are regularly tilled and cultivated using a petrol tiller are in visibly better condition than those which aren’t.
This rotavator/tiller has significant power output for a tool of its size, with an output of 2HP from its 43cc 2-stroke engine which is powered with petrol. Petrol powered mowers and tillers are not only stronger, more effective and less likely to break than electric options, but also don’t rely on restrictive power cable, reducing the health and safety risk as well as being more convenient. The fuel tank sits atop the tiller for easy access and filling.
This petrol powered piece of essential gardening kit is relatively easy to carry at just over 21 kg. It measures 560 x 330 x 530 mm when folded up, making it compact enough to store away easily into a small shed.
With four blades and a working width of 23.5cm these rotavators can cut through the job of tilling soil and cultivating the earth easily, quickly and effectively.
When finished, remove any dead twigs or stems before folding away. Store the rotavator well out of the reach of children due to the sharp blades and petrol, preferably in a lockable shed. Constructed in a combination of durable hard wearing metal in black and Hecht’s signature red, the design of this rotavator is sleek, modern and stands out from the crowd. An essential bit of kit for anyone who finds hand tilling flower beds, borders, lawns or vegetable patches hard work and are looking for something that both eases the physical stress of these jobs whilst also reducing the man hours involved.

PLEASE NOTE -
Mini Petrol Tillers and Small Cultivators are not suitable for breaking up hard ground and should only be used for cultivating and turning over ready-made beds and pre-broken soil.*
Attempting to break up hard, impacted ground with this machine can damage your gearbox or drive shaft and will be inconvenient as well as costly.
Generally speaking, according to the experts at the Royal Horticultural Society, Light soils (sandy soils) can be turned over by a 2-5 HP machine, but heavy (clay) or impacted soils soil need more power.
Rotavating wet soil is extremely damaging so do wait for drier conditions to work this soil.
*NB: It is VERY important that you only attempt to break up virgin ground with a heavy-duty petrol rear tine tiller.
