The Masterbuilt Digital Charcoal Smoker is the first of its kind, combining smoked charcoal flavour with digital controls! With four chrome plated racks this smoker has a big capacity, providing 1,320 square inches of cooking space and a temperature range between 225°F to 400°F.
The cabinet is mounted on four castors, two of which are lockable. Two sturdy handles on either side of the smoker allow you to manoeuvre it with ease. A door with large window encloses the cooking chamber and is secured with two latches.
The Digital Control Panel can be linked to a smart device using WiFi or Bluetooth and when used in conjunction with a free downloadable app from Masterbuilt, will allow you to control the smoker. The app is available for Apple iOS 11.0 or higher using an iPhone 6 or higher and for Android 6 or higher. Both operating systems must support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.
The Digital Control Panel allows you to set the temperature, choose Fahrenheit or Celsius and set a countdown or count up timer. The smoker is supplied with one meat probe, however you can control the temperature of up to four meat probes and an alarm will sound once the desired temperature has been reached. The DigitalFan minimises heat fluctuations and maintains the temperature.
A charcoal basket with separate divider and heat deflector tent are utilised in different ways to control the temperature, all of which are explained in the instruction manual. A water bowl adds moisture to food. A removable ash tray and drip tray aid cleaning.
The Digital Charcoal Smoker requires assembly and is supplied with full instructions. It will require curing before use and periodically to prevent excessive rust. Details of how to do this are included with the instructions.
