Do you want to build your own Pizza oven? With the popularity of cooking your own homemade pizza, there is nothing like the achievement of building your own outdoor oven. Building your own allows you to have superior thermal qualities capable of high temperatures. They also retain their temperature for longer, making them also suitable for slow cooking.
A ready made Outdoor Pizza Oven can not only be extremely heavy, but large making it difficult to manipulate, certainly without extra equipment. So the option is to build your own oven, but just how do your build your own outdoor pizza oven? The answer, use this kit which has been cleverly designed in sections making it easy to manoeuvre into place to create a traditional dome shaped bread and pizza oven.
The oven kit comes in 5 sections and comprises:
• 2 tubes of heat resistant silicone,
• a cast iron door with heat resistant glass,
• a door thermometer capable of reading temperatures up to 500°C,
• a stainless steel metal chimney flue with cowl and damper, and
• 5kg outdoor oven cement
It will be necessary to construct a base capable of supporting the oven. It is suggested that Ceramic Fibre Board is placed on the base before building the oven to provide extra insulation. Further insulation is recommended once the oven has been fired once or twice, in the form of ceramic fibre blanket fixed in place with ceramic fibre adhesive and a mesh, before rendering with outdoor oven cement to make it waterproof. The oven can then be painted or tiled as preferred.
