This large wood fired barbecue and plancha is based on an Argentinian Assador. Contructed from steel, with a black powder coated finish and steel grill plate. The 100cm grill plate has the traditional v-shaped channels to allow fat to drain away from the meat and is combined with a flat plancha. A trough at the front of the grill collects the fat, preventing it dripping onto the coals and tainting the food with flare ups.
A chain driven height adjustable grill allows the cooking temperature to be varied as necessary and a removable ash tray aids cleaning up.
Traditionally wood fired, although you can use with BBQ and Plancha with charcoal briquettes or lumpwood if preferred.
A free bonus with this BBQ and Plancha is Marcus Bawdon’s book, Food and Fire. A BBQ guru, cooking enthusiast and editor of UK BBQ Mag, this 144 page hardback book is full of useful advice, techniques and 65 flavoursome recipes.
