This product will not only provide you with a rendered finish but will also enhance the thermal mass of your pizza oven. This cement-like material, with a maximum 5mm grain size, is mixed with water to a trowelling consistency.
This quantity allows for a 1” thick covering of the Mila 60 DIY Pizza Oven.
Once applied, the surface will need to cure for 24 hours, keeping the screed cool and wet. It then needs to be covered with polythene or wet rags after around 6 hours, after which it should be left to dry out naturally for 48 hours.
In order to ensure the screed does not fail, crack or shatter it is necessary to ensure any moisture is removed from the render. This needs to be done before coating the heatproof screed with anything else. Pre-heat the screed with a very hot electric fire or fan heater. You then need to follow the curing process included with the Pizza Oven kit, gradually increasing the temperature of the oven to dry it out thoroughly.
This heatproof screed has a light grey, rough finish. You may then decide to apply paint or Outdoor Oven Cement to achieve a smooth finish.
