Victoria Wooden Garden arbour
13 July 2020 by: Yvonne SmalleyWe are liking the finished arbour although Mike had to use many more tools than quoted in the instruction leaflet. The rebated frame which holds the trellis work would, we feel, fill up with water when it rains. Would it be advisable to drill holes along these grooves as drainage or are there some already which we have missed? The pre-fitted screws in the seat and back rest have gone rusty and have stained the wood in places, which is a shame. There are green marks on most of the wood surfaces - is this some sort of preservative? I wanted to apply a golden wood stain but the green marks did not disappear when we tried a light sanding of the wood which again is a shame and spoils the finished article. Look forward to your comments.
