It may be smaller than the Classic Pit Barrel Cooker but the Junior packs the same punch, employing the same science to produce amazing food every time.
The cylindrical shape of the barrel creates an all round heat, which when combined with the concept of hanging food vertically to place it in the centre of the barrel, cooks it from all sides simultaneously, creating consistently great tasting and perfectly cooked food.
The charcoal basket is designed to take the guess work out of how much fuel to use. The capacity of the basket supplied with the Junior Cooker is around 1.8kg, sufficient for 6-7 hours of cooking time. Wood chips can be added if desired for additional flavour.
The Pit Barrel Junior is supplied with the following:
- A 14” steel drum, lid and tripod stand with top quality porcelain enamel coating for durability and horse-shoe handles
- 2 steel hanging rods with 4 stainless steel hooks and a wooden hook remover
- A charcoal basket with capacity of around 1.8kg
- A grill grate

Smoke, sear, grill or slow cook with the versatile Pit Barrel Junior Cooker and Smoker Grill. Using the vertical hanging system, it can cook up to 6 racks of ribs, 1 pork shoulder or brisket, 6 chicken halves or a 7.7kg turkey. Alternatively use the grill grate to cook items that can’t be suspended such as burgers, pizza, fish or if you wish to sear a steak.
