Wildlife Cameras

Britain has a diverse array of wildlife species that include include an abundance of wild birds, foxes, hedgehogs, Owls, Badgers, bats, squirrels, & marine and pond life.

You will be suprised at the wildlife that can be found in your own back garden, if you were to watch for long enough.

A wildlife camera is an excellent way to watch your wildlife visitors close up. By using a wildlife camera there is no chance of disturbing them and every chance or seeing or recording some fascinating images.

Wildlife cameras for the garden are becoming very popular, in particular with the avaiability of computers and that you can connect wildlife or nest box cameras to them.

In doing ;this, you can now capture video footage or photos directly from your wildlife camera, you could even create your very own Spring or Autumn Watch.

Whilst Nest box cameras can be limited to perhaps only 6 months of the year, a wildlife camera can be used for a variety of applications - all year round. You could use them to watch birds feeding in the winter months, watch outside nest boxes in the spring, they can be used to watch for Badgers, foxes or hedgehogs. There will never be a dull moment when you have a Wildlife camera.

Its great fun, children (and adults!) will learn more about nature, it is also a fabulous feature for visiting friends and relatives to see.  Visit our wildlife camera catagory to see a full range of products. You may choose a nest box camera, a pond camera, a bird feeder camera or a wildlife observation camera, either way, will not be disapointed. Our range comes with full instructions and are ideal as gifts for the garden.

There is a variety of wildlife cameras available.

Black and White - These are generally used with infra red lights to illuminate the the focul point perhaps up to 7 metres away. The quality of the image is dependant on the TV Line resolution. less then 380 is low or medium. Above 380 is high resolution.

Colour - These too have infra red LEDs normally, however, the image at night is always Black and White, unless a small adjustable white light is used - as with our wildlife cameras. The light can be illuminated sufficiently to give a colour image but not to disturb the topic.

Wireless - I could have a debate about Wireless wildlife cameras being better or vise a versa. The fact is there are pros and cons for wired or wireless wildlife cameras. The important factor is that wired cameras rely on a cable being run to the camera from the viewing device, wireless wildlife cameras can be postioned just about anywhere within 100 metres or so with a good line of sight. However, they are reliant on a portable or re-chargeable power source.

Personal choice - based on knowledge of the pros and cons, we supply and use both wired and wireless wildlife cameras.

The next point to consider is how you want to view the images and if you want to be able to record video or photos.

Our Wildlife camera kits come ready to connect to a TV, Video or DVD. However, you may want to connect to either a computer or dedicated digital vidio recorder.

To connect to a computer you can us a USB Video Capture Device, this will take the images and record them onto your PC hardrive, giving you the ability to record and edit videos, slow them down or take photos. The benefit of our USB recorder is that it records using MOTION DETECTION, saving space on your hardrive by recording only when the wildlife camera has motion in front of it. This way you can also leave the camera recording for long periods of time.

This can also be achieved using a special video card in a PC or a dedicated recorder, we offer both options, the USB produces good results at a cost effective price.
