Barbecuing has developed in the UK into more than a few sausages and burgers on a small round kettle style BBQ.

In recent years with our revitalised interest in preparing our own foods, cooking our own foods and entertaining we are looking for new and traditional ways to prepare and cook food.

Our thirst for this foodie adventure is fuelled by the popularity of Celebrity chefs such as Jamie Oliver.

One such new method is using an Outdoor Wood Ovens for cooking. Instead of using the traditional briquette or a gas fired BBQ we are finding much more satisfaction and authenticity cooking over real woods – which can of course be a free supply of fuel!

To enjoy your outdoor oven - simply build a small fire in the front of the oven using dry kindling, wait for it to reach the desired temperature and slide in a simple stone base pizza to cook – less than 2 minutes for perfection.

You can of course regulate the temperature of an outdoor wood oven by adding more or less wood. Higher temperatures enable you to cook succulent joints of meat without losing flavour or moisture; cooler ovens allow that slow roasting or stewing of foods such as Pork Shoulder or Lamb shoulder.

You can use an outdoor wood oven for normal Barbecued meats or vegetables too – Chicken Tikka and Tandoori Chicken is brilliant too. Similarly bread in the Outdoor Wood Oven is very nice.

The Outdoor Wood Oven is in fact, a complete cooking system that will outlast any traditional BBQ and can be used, realistically, all year round!
