Designed specifically for the Kestrel from a design approved by the Hawk and Owl Trust.

The Kestrel (and its family) will feel secure in this nest box which is hand crafted using FSC timber from sustainable sources.

A perch is fixed to the front of the nest box as adult Kestrel's will spend a lot of time perched on the nest box near the entrance.

Kestrel Nest Boxes have been shown to seriously increase the number of nesting Kestrel Pairs.

A Kestrel Nest Box can be mounted side on against a barn, post or even a house. Alternatively it could be mounted from the back of the box on a tree. It may be possible to mount using a horizontal baton and wedge it in the fork of a tree branch, or it could be secured using rope or wire.

* Kestrel Nest Boxes should be placed near to fields, hedgerows, meadows or the edge of woods and farms. This will ensure a good supply of food.
* A Kestrel Nest Box should be between 10 and 30 feet high.
* To encourage Kestrels, you could place 2 to 3 inches of untreated sawdust/wood shavings in the nest box floor.
